Help Refugees Overseas

Young Israel is moving ahead with organizing collections for refugees in camps overseas. The Rapalino family has generously agreed to store donated supplies in their basement at 229 East St. Items can be dropped off Mon-Thurs. Please call or text Florenza at (603) 326-8556 to arrange for a specific time. The collected goods will be sorted and transported to a warehouse in Nashua, NH, where they will be packed for shipping.

Ways to help:

  • For this round - donate coats, boots, shoes, and food items including beans, protein bars, infant formula, and tuna. These items can also be purchased on Amazon and shipped to Rebecca Raub at 10 Massapoag Avenue.
  • Sort and pack donations at a central location in Sharon on Sunday 9 am January 29th and Thursday evening February 2nd 8 pm.
  • Volunteer on Sunday February 5th starting at 10 am to load cars and transport donations to the sorting warehouse in Nashua, NH. We will also be spending a few hours working with the warehouse to sort and pack stockpiled donations. Children 6 and above can attend. Bagels and coffee will be provided.
  • Ask any local vendors for donated goods
  • Donate boxes from Home Depot – size small

If you’d like to sign up to volunteer for sorting and packing as well as Sunday February 5th to transport the donations, please email DeDe Jacobs-Komisar at djkomisar@gmail.com and she will share the google doc with you.
