Yom HaShoah Program

8:00 PM - 10:00 PMThis Sunday evening, 27 April/28 Nissan, starting at 8:00 PM, Young Israel of Sharon will have two speakers for our commemoration of Yom HaShoah. All Young Israel members are encouraged to attend. This program is also recommended for mature teens.
The first speaker will be Sam Natansohn, a survivor from Poland who will discuss his experiences during the Shoah. Mr. Nathansohn was a longtime Sharon resident and is a past-president of Temple Israel of Sharon. You can see his extraordinary testimony here: Samuel Natansohn on Vimeo http://vimeo.com/16570984
Our second speaker will be Morris Ratner, a professor at the University of California at Hastings School of Law. Professor Ratner "prosecuted and settled Holocaust-era slave labor, looted asset, dormant bank account and unpaid insurance claims against European companies, producing global settlements in those cases worth more than $7.5 billion." Community Support Liaison, JF&CS
Hi, my name is Talia and I am a social worker from JF&CS, as well as a member here at Young Israel of Sharon. In my JF&CS role as Community Support Liaison, I work with synagogues to help connect their members with resources for themselves and their families. JF&CS offers resources that serve the community across the lifespan from infancy to end of life. Types of resources and support include but are not limited to financial assistance, mental health, case management, disability services, food insecurity, domestic abuse, aging support, and referrals to services. In addition to working with individuals and families, I work to facilitate meaningful and engaging programming for the communities I serve. Please reach out anytime. I would love to connect with you.
