Ma'ayan Class with Sarah Cheses Be part of an international learning effort as women from all over the world study the entire Talmud. Monday evenings at 8 p.m., Sarah Cheses will be covering the second perek of Masechet Rosh Hashanah in her class "Uncovering New Ideas about the New Moon." We will study together the complete perek, which discusses the process by which the new moon was determined in olden times. This perek is filled with history and stories, and we will learn it in the style of bekiut, focusing on the bigger picture and covering a lot of material in a short amount of time. To maximize our time together, it would be best to prepare the part of the gemara that we will be discussing before class, but not necessary. If there is interest, we can arrange for an optional chevruta time to take place before the shiur. Mondays, 8:00-9:15 pm: 11/25, 12/2, 9; at YIOS.

7th Annual Rofeh International Toy Drive is Underway YI Sharon is proud to announce that it will be once again a partner with ROFEH International to put smiles on sick children as part of its 7th Annual Chanukah / Holiday Toy Drive. Boston Children's Hospital, The Jimmy Fund DFCI, Tufts Floating Hospital for Children and MGH Hospital for Children will benefit from the over 1,000 toys collected by hundreds of kind and generous individuals and over 25 Jewish organizations / partners, from all walks of life. Memorial Plaques Purchase a plaque to memorialize an individual who has passed away. The plaques will be placed on one of the Yahrtzeit boards in the Young Israel Sanctuary and the memorial lights will be lit for the Yahrtzeit and for every Yizkor service.
