COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS
Share the Gift of Reading with a Child Many local children have fallen behind in their studies as a result of the pandemic. For some children, it was difficult to learn certain skills over zoom. The program, the Greater Boston Jewish Coalition for Literacy, is a program of the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Boston. Young Israel of Sharon is partnered with the Arnone Elementary School in Brockton. Volunteering once a week can be any day and the time can be arranged directly with the school. Training is provided for all volunteers. Teachers provide the materials they would like the volunteer to work with during the sessions. Professional support is offered and available when you need it. If you would rather not make a weekly commitment, there are other stand-alone programs throughout the year that may be of interest to you.
Please be in touch with Suzanne Andisman at 305-613-9337 or sandisman@gmail.com about participating in this increible program.
