COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS
Sharon Pluralism Network Upcoming Event Sharon Pluralism Network (SPN) is sponsoring a FREE interactive Zoom experience with True Story Theater on Sunday, October 23rd from 4-6pm and we hope you will join us. SPN has offered past events with True Story Theater with much success and many of you who attended have asked that we offer it again. Whether or not you have attended a True Story Theater program in the past, we think you will find the event fun, informative and community-building, so we hope you will REGISTER using the link below and join us for a wonderful afternoon! Registration starts today.
When: Sunday, October 23, 2022 Where: Virtual Program on Zoom Time: 4:00-6:00 pm Who: FREE and Open to anyone with connections to the Sharon community
Description: What happens in a True Story Theater performance? The cast of True Story Theater brings together the delight of improvisation with the riveting vulnerability of people sharing their personal truths.
The show’s emcee (called “the conductor”) facilitates brief, spontaneous conversations with volunteers from the audience who share their own feelings and experiences arising from the question “What is it like to be YOU in Sharon?” After each conversation, the actors and musician immediately embody the key feelings and actions they heard, using movement, music, dialogue, and superb listening. All of it is improvised on the spot.
From this simple interaction, audience members laugh, cry, get insights about their lives, and feel an expanded sense of community. Whether you share a moment from your life and see it performed, or just come to watch, this can lead to deeper connections built on greater understanding, compassion, and empathy with one another – and help to reduce the divides among us.
The Sharon Pluralism Network thanks the Sharon Cultural Council and the Massachusetts Cultural Council for helping fund this event.
